The jury picked the right winner of Big Brother 12 on the season finale. Hayden was crowned champ-barely edging Brigade member Lane in a 4-3 vote. The seventh and deciding vote was from recently evicted Enzo-another Big Brother Brigade member. Fans who missed the series finale will want to know who won Big Big Brother 12. The answer was 24 year old Hayden.
What happened last night on the season finale of Big Brother 12? Hayden won his fifth overall competition in the final HOH event and voted to evict Enzo. That left Brigade members Hayden and Lane to battle it out for the overall title. It was an extremely close vote. Brittney, Brendon and Rachel all voted in favor of Lane. Hayden received his four votes from Kathy, Ragan, Matt and Enzo. Hayden probably deserved to walk away with the $500,000 grand prize after winning five total competitions. Lane didn’t walk away empty handed-he picked up a check for $50,000 for his second place efforts on Big Brother 12.
There were quite a few interesting moments during the live portion of the show last night on Big Brother 12. Brendon and Rachel talked of possibly moving in together and going to UCLA(that would mean Rachel would leave from her current city of Las Vegas). Ragan was announced as the second saboteur much to the surprise of the house-guests who seemingly never suspected it. Brittney won an additional prize for being the favorite of American voters. Viewers also learned there wasn’t a connection between two of the houseguests previously–that was a rumor started by saboteur Annie. And most notably–the big prize went to Hayden. Hayden seemed to be the perfect mix of a social player and athlete that the jury admired and expected in a Big Brother winner.
Hayden chose to take Lane with him to the final two. It appeared that Hayden respected Enzo so much that he thought he would have a better chance to beat Lane. Hayden even said that Enzo had the best social game in Big Brother history. The irony is that Lane had said he would have probably chose Enzo to go with him to the final two because he feared Hayden would win because of his dominance in HOH competitions. We will never truly know if Enzo would have received more votes and would have been crowned the winner of Big Brother 12.
What happened on Big Brother 12 last night was what should have happened in my opinion. Hayden was hands down the best competitor in the household-especially after Brendon was eliminated. Lane and Enzo played strong social games but didn’t back it up with wins in competitions. Hayden should have probably won hands down with the exception of one from Brittney. Maybe Brendon and Rachel were still mad at Hayden for the week one drama between each other? For whatever reason, Brendon and Rachel were prepared to deny Hayden being the Big Brother 12 winner–this despite his accomplishments in various competitions.
I believe both Lane and Hayden would have knocked off Enzo if he would have somehow made it to the final two.
Enzo only managed one win during competitions-even if others suggested he manipulated his way through the entire season. He did seem to have a terrific charisma that really was illuminated on the live portion of Big Brother 12 season finale last night. Should he have been proclaimed the winner of Big Brother 12 while failing miserably in competitions? Absolutely not. I have a feeling with his charisma that he’ll be getting some television offers on down the road.
The season finale was definitely a good “watch”. The entire season was filled with enough drama that it made for great reality television. The drama of Big Brother 12 certainly doesn’t ever seem to be duplicated during other parts of the year by other reality shows. I guess that means for fans like me, we’ll have to wait until Big Brother 13 to see silly HOH competitions, haves and have nots and all the wackiness that comes with the CBS reality show.
