With close to 1 billion fans viewing his YouTube videos and over 5 million followers on Twitter, Justin Bieber is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry. At the young age of 16, Justin Bieber is by far the most marketable person on this planet. Whether the album sales, the videos, or the branded merchandise, Justin Bieber is by far no longer a person, but an entity.
Justin Bieber’s fame spans all ages, races and genders. His appeal is something to be marveled. If Justin Bieber couldn’t reach any further, he has now struck a deal which will ensure his legacy will last for years to come.
Walmart is by far the most recognizable retailer on the planet. With over 8500 stores worldwide and a staggering $405 billion in sales, Walmart has its fair share of notoriety. The world’s largest retailer has seen better days. Over the last five quarters, Walmart has seen its United States division sales decline. The tactics used to win customers was not working as expected. Now enter Justin Bieber into the equation.
Justin Bieber has partnered with Nicole, a sister company of OPI, to design a line of nail polish called “One Less Lonely Girl” collection. The nail polishes will be available exclusively at Walmart during the holidays in six different colors. Colors such as bright blue metallic and sparkly purple will be included. More colors will be available from the Justin Bieber nail polish line after the holidays at other retailers.
This move may be the spark Walmart needs to provide a boost to its sagging sales. If the “One Less Lonely Girl” collection were to sell for $2 per bottle and every fan of Justin Bieber were to purchase, the sum would be over $2 billion on one item. Even if a conservative amount were taken out of the equation, Justin Bieber is positioned to make a lot of money.
Walmart Executives are definitely smiling with this move. The hope is the deal with Justin Bieber and Walmart will not become irrelevant as past partnerships such as Hannah Montana and Mary-Kate & Ashley.
