Justin Bieber bombarded State Police Troopers with water balloons from outside his trailer at the State Fair last weekend, according to People Magazine. As he was waiting to take the stage, Bieber and his crew members thought it would be fun to throw the water filled balloons at the Maryland State Cops.
Bieber is showing the immaturity of his age, but tossing water bombs at troopers can get you into trouble at any age. One policeman was hit with a balloon on his belt, and another was side swiped on his chest.
The police did not take Bieber into custody, or even make a report of the incident, but they were not happy. The troopers were supplying the security at the concert at the time of the incident. Maybe they knew they would have a riot on their hands if they detained the Beiber Fever star.
What is up with this Bieb? He has been a great example, behavior wise, for his peer group. Hopefully this is not the teenage crooner starting to act like a spoiled rich kid, because this is certainly not how he started out.
It only stands to reason if celebrity status goes to the heads of adults, it may happen to an impressionable 16 year old too!
Water balloons are cool and they are fun to throw at your friends, but you don’t chuck them at the police, end of story. Bieber was lucky that the two troopers he was aiming at did not arrest him. Although, maybe if they had at least reprimand him in someway, it might put an end of this kind of behavior for good. The problem here is that this incident could work in making Bieber think he is above being arrested for pranks.
This is the type of preferential treatment that can validate the feeling of being better than others. It may or may not affect Bieber that way, but if he is excused from inappropriate behavior enough times, chances are it will.
Hopefully this is an isolated incident for the young Bieber Fever heartthrob and it won’t go any further, but you never know.
Without consequences a “monster is born”, and this holds true for any kid, celebrity or not.
