Kanye West has a brand new album coming out and it’s called, ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ and that’s not a joke. After years of outrageous behavior and public outburst Kanye is declaring he’s a different person today, but is he really? At the 2009 VMAs Kanye – as we all know by now – got on stage and rudely interrupted Taylor Swift as she gave her acceptance speech for Best Female Video. Kanye, angry that Beyonce Knowles lost the award, got on stage demanding the award be given to Beyonce instead of Swift, and at that moment people felt like Kanye may have taken his over-the-top image too far.
The backlash was pouring in – and it wasn’t looking too good for West. His team tried to have Kanye spin a story that he had been drinking during the ceremony and that he was clearly drunk when he got on stage and interrupted Swift, but people weren’t buying it. Kanye, probably making one of the smartest decisions he’s ever made in his career, disappeared for about a year. No public appearances, no Twitter updates, no paparazzi photo’s – nothing. Kanye had completely gone off the radar, which is a little unusual for someone like Kanye, who at one point updated his blog ranting daily.
He reportedly was in France, where he was able to keep an extremely low profile. These days Kanye is back in the spotlight since he’s promoting his upcoming album ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ and he’s said that he’s a changed man and called himself the “lowest form of human being” relating to the Swift VMA incident. But reportedly Swift isn’t buying it, saying she feels like Kanye might be using her name just to promote his album – and can you blame her? We all know Kanye has good intentions, but is this just a classic case of someone taking responsibility for their actions to improve their image and generate good album sales?
So with his new album coming out November 22nd, do you think Kanye will be able to reinvent himself and show people he’s really change or are you no longer interested?
