Actress Kate Bosworth has joined her good friend and celebrity stylist Cher Coulter to launch Jewelmint.com, an exclusive jewelry club that comes in the form of a monthly subscription. Jewelry lovers who are serious about fashion will likely jump at the chance to be a member of Jewelmint. In addition to convenience, the club takes out a lot of the guess work involved in jewelry shopping as the choices are chosen by fashion experts.
Using the results of a style quiz, Kate Bosworth, Cher Coulter, and the JewelMint team recommend a collection of personalized jewelry to each member. Then, every month, he or she is able to pick one new piece from the selection. In addition to the jewelry, members also receive style tips, a weekly trend report, and behind-the-scenes peeks courtesy of Cher Coulter. As a celebrity stylist, Coulter has access to the premiere fashion events taking place around the world. She visits everywhere from runway shows to vintage markets in an effort to find potential offerings for Jewelmint members.
“Cher and I could not be more excited about JewelMint! It is a natural extension of our friendship, our creative relationship, and our love of fashion,” Kate gushed.
The membership fee for Kate and Cher’s club is $29.99/month, but such a price is minimal considering Jewelmint’s pieces are costume designs being offered at 70 percent off the retail prices. Shipping is always free, and in the instance that a member doesn’t like the offerings for that month, he or she can simply skip it with no charge.
For those people who are really into jewelry and staying on top of the trends, JewelMint might be a very worthwhile investment. Compared to the jewelry ventures of a few other celebrities, the online club sounds incredibly reasonable. Not only is the price ten times better, but past collections by celebrities have reflected only their personal taste and style, not the consumer’s.
Take Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s jewelry line, for instance. Last year they partnered with the jeweler Asprey to launch a collection called ‘The Protector’. The gold jewelry and silver accessories feature Angelina’s favorite animal, which is the snake. According to Celebrity Clothing Line, ‘The Protector’ is a little pricey, starting at $525 for a silver baby spoon that has a snake-shaped handle. As would be expected from this philanthropy-loving couple, all proceeds from the sale of their jewelry go to the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, a group which aims to educate child victims of war and natural disaster.
The Kardashian sisters also applied their fashion taste to the world of jewelry. Named after the famous reality starlets, ‘Kardashian sisters for Virgins, Saints & Angels’ is a 20-piece collection made up of bronze and silver rings, earrings, and necklaces (L.A. Times). Priced on the higher side (from $185 up to $1,025) the Times’ Fashion Critic asserts that the jewelry is too expensive “for the weight and feel of the pieces”. They actually suggest going to an Armenian church gift shop instead.
