Kate Plus Eight will finally debut a new episode on TLC, despite all of the controversy surrounding the family. This new Kate Plus Eight episode will have a Halloween theme, and will remind viewers of some of the episodes that were filmed back when the show was called Jon and Kate Plus Eight.
Regarding that latest controversy, it involves stories that Kate Gosselin had two of her children expelled from school, forcing her to have a teacher home school them. Gosselin claims that the stories aren’t true, and that it was her choice to pull two of her kids out of school.
The new episode of Kate Plus Eight will air on Sunday, Nov. 28, bringing yet another program to TLC that could generate a lot of buzz and high ratings. Recently, the network has really enjoyed having Sarah Palin’s Alaska showing on Sunday nights; it debuted to some of the highest ratings TLC has ever seen for the first episode of a new program. Those interested in seeing Alaska, Sarah Palin, and the way that her family lives up there drew in about 5 million viewers for the first episode, showing that TLC could have a big hit on their hands. The show has only a short run of episodes, though, unless the Palin family decides to come back for more.
One family that did decide to come back for more was the Gosselins, who seem like the “old-hat” when it comes to TLC programming. There aren’t succinct plans on what to do with Kate and her kids in the near future, as TLC has been trying to work on re-capturing the audience that was absolutely enthralled when the show was at its peak ratings numbers. Maybe they won’t be able to regain that level of success, but viewers are still tuning into the program in droves, even if it isn’t quite as popular as it once was. Now TLC has to just decide if it will remain profitable, or if Gosselin has run her course on the network.
Sunday’s episode has a definite Halloween theme to it, with the kids extremely excited that Halloween has come around again. The hour-long episode Sunday night will cover Kate and her kids picking out costumes, visiting a pumpkin patch, and exploring the drama of their spooky basement. Apparently Gosselin has also planned a surprise for her kids that we will get to see, but viewers will have to tune in to find out.
The Halloween episode of Kate Plus Eight airs on Sunday, Nov. 28, beginning at 10 p.m. on TLC. The episode will also be re-shown at midnight.
