Residents may have noticed the street closures the past few Sundays. The closures are part of the New York Weekend Walks 2010 sponsored by the New York City Department of Transportation. Local Clinton Hill merchants host the “Move About Myrtle” event each Sunday of this month.
There is free music, performances, dancing, cycling, games and activities the whole family can enjoy. The pedestrian-friendly event has a lot of kid-friendly activities like crafts, hula-hoop areas and chalk drawing.
Free food samples are provided by local vendors such as BK Bouillon, LugNuts and BK Salsa Co. Visit booths from local organizations while meeting other members of the community. “Move About Myrtle” is held between Clermont and Hall Streets from noon to 6 p.m until the end of September.
