It’s getting until you can’t take a reality star anywhere without a fight breaking out. And no, we’re not talking about Snooki and “Jersey Shore” (not this particular time). We’re talking about Kim Kardashian. According to TMZ, she and her sisters were in New York City this week when what should have been a simple request for a picture turned ugly — and left the beautiful Kim Kardashian drenched with the beverage of a jealous woman.
Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian were at Juliet when the fight occurred. A fan approached Kim Kardashian and asked if she would take a picture with him. The man’s girlfriend became incensed and literally threw her drink on the obliging Kardashian, dousing the front of her skin-tight dress.
Kourtney Kardashian’s boyfriend, Scott Disick, jumped in to defend Kim’s honor, as did little sister, Khloe. In the melee that ensued, Khloe reportedly lost her wedding ring and dove onto the nightclub’s floor to retrieve it (and she did). Scott Disick was restrained and thrown out of the nightclub.
TMZ caught the group on camera as they left the nightclub shortly after the fracas.
Could the drink-throwing female have been someone who read that Kim Kardashian, in an appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show, was “down for some hook-ups” while in New York City and was just making certain that her boyfriend wasn’t one of those “hook-ups”? Or could the woman have been an intense “Sex and the City” fan hellbent on vengeance for Jonathan Cheban’s remarks made to Too Fab about Kim Kardashian “blowing up” New York with her clothes and that she made “Carrie Bradshaw look like a bag lady.”
Or… Could it have all been part of the latest reality show theme of girl-fighting? As TMZ pointed out, the Kardashians were in town filming their reality show, “Kourtney and Kim Take New York,” and so what looked like a spontaneous jealousy incident might have been scripted.
Besides, having a drink tossed on you, a guy posturing and yelling in your defense, and a sister more worried about her wedding ring than your honor really might not constitute a bar “brawl,” a descriptor some media outlets have taken to calling the fight.
Kim Kardashian blogged on Celebuzz that the group were just trying to have a fun night out in New York on Khloe’s last night in the city. “None of us were drinking…,” she wrote, “we just wanted a fun family night out, but when people see the cameras rolling, they try to get attention and I guess that’s what happened when the drunk girl saw that we were filming KKTNY. I always take the high road, so we all left straight after and didn’t feed into their drama.”
Still, for proper brawling, in bars and otherwise, the Kardashian clan might want to sit down and take notes the next time “Jersey Shore” airs. Feisty little Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi would be able to give them some pointers. And although Snooki may not have invented the bar brawl, or even the bar brawl on reality television, she and her cast members on MTV’s “Jersey Shore” have certainly popularized it.
The “Jersey Shore” gang go at it, too — fists, feet, knees, punches, slaps, kicks. Nothing so civilized as a drink thrown and some loud yelling.
And the “Jersey Shore” crew seem to be none the worse for scoring hook-ups because of their brawling ways.
In the end, it is unknown if the fan got his picture taken with the voluptuous Kim Kardashian.
It is also unclear if Kim Kardashian was in a hook-up situation when the incident occurred…
