I love to rhyme words. However, I thought I would try a free verse poem about the Italian Lamborghini Countach, and what it observes at a car show. Smile; cars can talk. Remember Jerry Van Dyke in “My Mother, the Car”?
I believe in Heaven, but I think if God ever sent me back on a mission, I would be something with a sporty engine.
Who are these people wandering through the car show?
Did they come to buy, or just to browse,
And what is your reaction, lovely Italian car?
Do you watch in turn?
They stare in admiration at a sporty red Countach.
The Lamborghini is centered, a symbol of power and rank
among others in the show.
Viewers voice commendable comments, such as “beautiful” , “classy”, “well-built”, “It’s me”
How fortunate they do not listen for your response: “Sports jocks.”
