There have been a rash of residential burglaries reported in Royal Oak this past week. Laptops have been a major target, with three missing from the 1300 block of Ferris Avenue, an apartment on the 1700 block of Gardenia, and a house on the 1600 block of Poplar. All residences were reportedly unlocked. The Ferris and Gardenia break ins were over by Campbell and Twelve Mile, near Lockman Park.
A bit further south, near 75 on the 1000 block of North Stephenson, an apartment was the scene of a forced entry. The man living there wasn’t home at the time, but when he returned at 3:15 pm, September 19th he found his wallet and prescription medication were gone. Another wallet and checkbook was stolen from the 3600 block of North Main during the night of September 21st, as a thief broke in while the owner slept. This is on the north side of town, close to Quickstad and Realtor Parks, between Normandy and West 13 Mile.
