After November second I was hoping that all the aggressive and offensive advertizing would go away and everyone was going to go on with their life and face the stress that the next months of holidays bring to our lives.
Unfortunately for me now, it’s all about dissecting and psychoanalyzing why Americans voted what way and why some of the most trusted polls were so wrong compared to the results.
It is overwhelmingly ridiculous to read on the paper and watch on TV these so called “experts” express their opinions on what really happened on Nevada’s Election Day.
Mr. Expert, I have news for you! There was no real magic on the way people in Nevada voted; the truth is that we had NO CHOICE,
If Ms. Sue Lowden wouldn’t have made the chicken comment, this midterm election would’ve had different dynamics.
For Hispanics – (which accounted for 16% o the vote) regardless of Political Party Affiliation – had to vote for son candidate on the ballot and we weren’t going to vote for Ms. Angle who depicted us as criminals on TV and confused our children for “Asians”.
Mr. Harry Reid and the rest of the Democratic Machine in Washington have certainly disappointed many Latino’s in America who have a relative, spouse or other family members who would like to find a path to citizenship in this country and is clear for us that the Pelosi/Reid Team have been pulling all the shots and have not let President Obama govern. We are hoping now, with Pelosi out the pedestal of power, all branches of government will have no choice – but to come together for the benefit of this great nation, at least for the next two years. We are also hoping Mr. Reid stops thanking his campaign managers, contributors and consultants and start thanking the Latinos in Nevada for his win by working for the immigration reform that this country really needs.
Please understand that Latinos had to keep Harry Reid in office, at least until something better comes along but that is the Republicans next goal to achieve.
In regards to Mr. Sandoval, again, no better choice! Even though he claims his children don’t look Hispanic and he wants a law similar to Arizona’s Senate Bill 1070 to pass (which it’s never going to see the light of day in Las Vegas and the whole State because of the many tourists we get and the impact it would have in our gaming dependent economy)
I don’t believe Rory Reid would have had the character you need to govern Nevada.
Has anyone seen him as Chairman of the County Commissioners? He lacks bravado, presence, personality a je ne sais quoi. I wouldn’t like him representing us as a State.
Latinos don’t want to take someone else’s job, we just to work to give a better life for our families and a free country to live in and I really hope our Latino political voice is heard and we continue building a better future for our children in Nevada – regardless of race, ethnicity and country of origin.
