It was a match made in heaven- after they waded through the aftermath of their broken marriages. But singer Lee Ann Rimes told ABC’s Robin Roberts that she has no regrets about falling in love with the already married Eddie Cibrian last year on the set of their Lifetime movie “Northern Lights”.
Both Cibrian and Rimes were married to other people at the time (Cibrian to model Brandi Glanville and Rimes to Dean Sheremet; Cibrian and Glanville also have two children together).
And while Rimes claims that what happened between her and Cibrian “happens every day to so many people”, it’s all the more scandalous when it happens between Hollywood stars and plays out in the tabloids.
And there must be something about Lifetime movies. Actress Tori Spelling was married to her first husband, Charlie Shanian, when she met actor Dean McDermott on the set of the made for TV Lifetime movie “Mind Over Murder”. McDermott was married and had a son with his wife, Mary Jo Eustace, at the time and they were in the process of adopting a baby girl.
But by the time Spelling and McDermott were done wrapping “Mind”, they were madly in love with each other and both had to fly home and tell their prospective spouses that they’d met their soul mates.
McDermott’s wife didn’t take things so well . In 2007 she penned an essay for anthology book The Other Woman. An excerpt from Eustace’s essay, “When the Other Woman Is Tori Spelling” can be read here.
And who can forget one of the biggest Hollywood affairs of all time? Legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor was married to actor Richard Burton twice, but both initially cheated on other spouses to be with each other. They met in 1963 on the set of the movie Cleopatraand began an affair, even though Burton was married to Sybil Williams at the time and Taylor was married to Eddie Fisher.
As for what really went down between Lee Ann Rimes and Eddie Cibrian, one person may have another side to the story. Cibrian’s ex-wife and mother of his children, Brandi Glanville, is set to appear on CBS’chatfest, “The Talk” today to give Julie Chen and Co. her side of the scoop.
