American Idol winner Lee DeWyze will be returning home once again to perform for the home town crowd. On September 24th Lee will once again be performing at the Arlington Park Race Track in Arlington Heights, IL. Lee grew up in Palatine Illinois which is extremely close to Arlington Heights.
In an interview this morning on local radios Station 105.5 Lee described this concert as being more about him. This concert is not about Idol. It is about Lee singing for his home town fans. He said he will be singing some of his old stuff and some things from his new album which will be released on November 16th.
The concert will begin at 7:30 and tickets are $10.00 and $29.50. The $10.00 tickets will get you on ground level but if you really want a good view of the show and Lee himself rather than a large screen wit Lee on it I recommend spending the extra money and getting the $29.50 tickets they will get you an elevated center stage view. I attended his first home town concert there and we had a really hard time actually seeing Lee, we did eventually see him but it was towards the end of the concert and we had to kind of wiggle through tons of people to get the point where we could see him. The $10.00 will get you that kind of a view. There is no assigned seating or rather I should say standing because there was not sitting down during that concert.
Bad views aside at Arlington Lee puts on a really good concert. He is a very sincere performer and really appreciates those people that come to see him perform. When he came for his Idol hometown concert he was supposed to sing 3 songs, but he broke the rules and sang several. What should have been a 30 minute to 45 minute concert turned in to a nearly 2 hours long concert, not counting the hour we waited for him to arrive. So i am quite certain that he will once again give his all at the show tomorrow night.
Tickets can be purchased through Stubhub: http://www.stubhub.com/lee-dewyze-tickets/lee-dewyze-arlington-heights-9-24-2010-995996/?cjpub=cj-3875292. The tickets are instant download tickets. You just print them out and bring them to the gate with you. If you get a $10 ticket, I highly recommend you get there extremely early and get a seat close to the tracks or as close to the stage as you are able. They do provide large screens to see the show, but if you actually want to see Lee you will need to grab a spot early on.
Welcome back Lee!
