Lil Wayne was just released from prison on Thursday after serving eight months of a 1-year sentence at Rikers Island prison located in New York. After his release, he headed to a safe house where he was greeted by friends and family. After spending some time with loved ones, the head of Young Money headed to the Palace hotel where he met with his hair stylist who spent hours taking care of his dreadlocks. As always, Wayne had to say a few words to his fans. He tweeted, “Aaaaaaahhhhhhmmmmm baaaaakkkkkkkkkk.”
The rappers legal troubles are not over. On Friday, the day after his release from prison, he headed to Arizona for a scheduled court appearance to handle some more legal issues stemming from an arrest in January 2008. Wayne was in Arizona to sign a plea agreement. According to TMZ, Wayne is not allowed to drink alcohol or consume anything containing alcohol for 3 years per his probation agreement. He also cannot knowingly be in association or company of anyone involved in criminal activity or any individuals with a criminal record without written approval.
Wayne is on fire and ready to make music One of his main concerns is to make sure he has tracks, which will obviously not be a problem. Everybody in the industry would like a golden invitation from Wayne to be on his highly anticipated first project since his release from prison. The rapper has yet to step foot in a studio but there’s already major buzz surrounding what his next project will be, what artists he will join forces with, and what lyrics will flow from his Martian mind. He’s sure to be bombarded in coming days with a never ending list of project options. There’s no question about whether or not Wayne still has that “it” factor or if he will have the same success as he did before going to prison. He’s looking for beats and he’s ready to put all the music that’s been playing in his head for the past eight months on wax.
Wayne is spending some time in New Orleans, and there’s still speculation that he’ll be joining Drake on Saturday for the Las Vegas stop of his tour. Lil Wayne has not made any public appearances at this point. His fans are desperately waiting for a chance to see him in his element the way that they remember him, in the spotlight.
