I have been using Lysol Disinfectant Power Toilet Bowl Cleaner for several years. I particularly liked the ease in which I could get the nozzle up, and under the bowel of the toilet, and allow the thick blue liquid to go all around the inside of the toilet.
However, I found some drawbacks with it. One time we were going on a weeks vacation, and I put the Lysol around the inside of the toilet bowl. I forgot to clean it with the brush before we left. Our three toilets ended up with blue around them, and it took me weeks to remove it.
Our house is 26 hours old, and as it is an over 55 community, I believe that the previous owners had mainly used the en suite toilet. It had a water mark around it, and the cheep dollar products didn’t work. The Duck toilet cleaner did nothing either. I was at my wits end.
A friend told me to use Lime A-Way on it, and I replied that I had tried it on my shower unit, and bath, and it was useless. I found that Scrubbing bubbles was so much better on these areas. However, I couldn’t find anything else to work, so I purchased a 1 pint, trigger bottle.
I made sure that all three toilets were flushed and had filled up. I then squirted the Lime A-Way just above the stain mark of the water. I left it on for an least an hour as I was hoping for a good result.
I first brushed the downstairs toilet bowl that only had a minor stain around the water area, and my toilet bowl came up gleaming white. Then it was the second bathroom upstairs, and again this one was a breeze. With my toilet the staining had been there for so long, that I had to put rubber gloves on, get the toilet brush, and really brush hard. I did this four times straight after one another, and I have a toilet bowl that looks brand new.
So my conclusion is that I no longer purchase Lysol Disinfectant Power Toilet Bowl Cleaner because it just doesn’t work on build up. I will only use Lime A-Way on the toilet bowls, because it was hard work for my shower and bathtub, and still didn’t come clean. Scrubbing bubbles automatic shower cleaner means I do not clean my shower, and I use their can for cleaning the bathtub.
