As I’m writing this, it’s Wednesday, the middle of the week. Some of us are happy to be working while others can’t wait for the end of the week to be here, and are seeing time go by slowly. Anyhow, it’s the perfect time to give your sweetie a pick-me-up. Try some of these romantic ideas and watch the sparks fly!
1. Send Flowers or Sweets
The internet is full of great websites which will deliver same-day or next day. Women always appreciate flowers while men enjoy having something delicious to munch on. If you plan ahead, you can even get creative and make a gift basket yourself and ship it in advance. A few good sites are:
2. Order lunch and have it delivered for them and their department at work.
Pizza or sandwiches are a great option. Be sure to have it delivered a little earlier than your honey’s break. Most places will deliver for free if your order is over $20.
3. If you live or work close by, put a sweet note on his or her car windshield.
How sweet would it be for them to walk outside and find some kind words nicely packaged? That is timelessly romantic and appreciated. Try it and see how special they will feel!
4. Make some dinner plans and tell them to keep their evening free.
Create a date night and pick them up. Even if you’re married or living together, tell them you have everything taken care of- you drive and get them to where you’re going. Even better, if you have some extra cash, hire someone to drive.
5. Bring some Coffee.
If they’re having a rough day or are very tired, surprise them by stopping by with their favorite coffee drink and a snack. If they are really busy or can’t be bothered, drop it off with their receptionist.
6. Help them out.
If they’re having a crunch week, help your better half out. Go buy them groceries, pick up their dry cleaning or drop some beers off at their place. It is a small favor that will make their day or week tremendously easier. If he or she has a big meeting short notice, take their car to the wash and fill up their gas tank while they’re sleeping. They’ll get up to go to work with something to smile about, or at the very least, one less thing to frown about.
7. Sing a little song.
It sounds silly, but sing a song and leave it on their voicemail. Or you could get really creative and record your voice for a picture or video message.
You know your love the best and what they enjoy. These are a few suggestions for a thoughtful reminder that they’re loved.
