LLWS scores from August 25 ended up eliminating two more teams. These 2010 LLWS scores came from a schedule of three games, all of which ended up being extremely entertaining on Wednesday. The day started with an important game between Hawaii and Texas, dictating which team would advance to play Georgia on Thursday. It was an elimination game that Ohio led for a while, but they ended up giving up too many runs late, and despite allowing only one hit (a three-run home run), they lost 6-4. Walks, errors, and hit batters added up to doom the kids from Hamilton, Ohio.
Over in the final International pool game, Panama jumped to a quick 1-0 lead, but couldn’t hold on to that lead against an extremely tough Chinese Tai Pei team. Despite giving up their first run in the last eight games they have played, Chinese Tai Pei advanced to the 2010 Little League International Championship Game on Saturday, August 28. They will play Japan in that game, who already qualified by winning their pool. It should be a great game, as both teams will be well rested and ready to go on Saturday.
The final game of the night might have been the best one, as Texas and Washington played to decide the Pool B champion. Texas took an early lead, but Washington stormed back to not just take the lead, but win the game 7-4. By winning on Wednesday, Washington forced another game on Thursday, which will be the elimination game for both teams. The winner from Thursday’s Washington vs. Texas game will advance to the 2010 United States Championship Game on Saturday.
Hopefully Thursday’s action on the field can stand up to how competitive the Wednesday games were.
