Let’s dance. Do you like to dance like I do? There are several people that you can learn from but I think that there is one person that is better than the rest of the instructors out there. Jim Killeen has been teaching dance since the early 70’s, starting with Disco in Anchorage and is a founding member of the Alaskan Singles Square Dance Club.
Jim Currently lives and instructs dance in Denver, Colorado and is one of the best people to learn many different dance routines and styles from. While he was in the Army and stationed overseas he received training for three years and achieved Gold Metal Level; the second highest award in the service, Gold bar is the highest available award in the service.
After finishing his tour of duty in the service Jim Killeen moved to San Jose, California and started working for the Fred Astaire Studios in 1990. It was a short affair with the studio in San Jose as Jim moved to Denver, Colorado in 1992. Jim started teaching at the Aime’s College in Greeley, college level dance instruction and private lessons as well. (In 2007 Jim started working for the Fred Astaire Studios again. This time in the Denver Market) but is no longer working with that studio.
Jim currently teaches large groups of people interested in learning from a truly interesting and well groomed dance instructor. Jim really knows what he talks about when it comes to dance. He is easy to work with, his manners are genuine and you will always feel confident with what Jim has taught you. His instructing partner Rita, since December 2008, are two of the best and most comfortable people to learn dance from.
Every time that I have been in the room to see Jim and Rita work their magic you can see the dedication and training with every step that is made. The mannerisms these two use is impeccable and the dance instruction is nothing less than perfect.
