Once spring rolls around, we might feel the itch to get outside and move around in the great outdoors. I start to feel cooped up during the winter months, and it’s nice to visit a local Fargo park once the snow melts (as long as it isn’t flooded, of course). And Fargo, North Dakota has dozens of parks and recreational facilities to visit during the spring and summer months. Here are a few you might want to check out.
Fargo Parks: Lindenwood Park
Lindenwood Park is great for doing just about anything you like. It is a large public space that is located in two different states–Fargo, North Dakota and Moorhead, Minnesota–and is separated by the Red River. I enjoy spending Sunday afternoons hitting a volleyball or tossing a softball around. But if you have an entire weekend open, why not spend it camping at Lindenwood Park?

Fargo Parks: Anderson Softball Complex
If you enjoy playing softball, Anderson Softball Complex is the place for you. During the summer, you will usually softball games being played, but if you get there early enough you might be able to snag a field for a while. Otherwise, just join a softball league and you will be guaranteed a softball diamond for a few hours each week.

Fargo Parks: Island Park
Do you enjoy picnicking? If so, spend the day at Island Park, where you can eat and enjoy many recreational activities. There are shelters and public restrooms, as well as electricity. There is even an adorable white gazebo that can be rented for outdoor weddings. The rental fee costs just $85.25 for the full day.

Fargo Parks: Dill Hill
Dill Hill is just down the road from Island Park. There are two softball diamonds, where you can play on a league or just for fun. I played several softball games here; the only drawback is that there is not shelter or shade. Definitely not a plus on a sunny day.

Fargo Parks: Village West Park
Not only is Village West Park a place for people to hang out, but there is a dog park here as well. Do you have a puppy you would like to socialize? Bring here to Village West Park where you can play with her outdoors, and where she can meet other dogs.
