Just stumbled across a tasting of House-Kombucha in front of Bi-Rite Market. Experiences like this are so great in the sense that one can compare all available flavors (thumbs up for the Vanilla Orchid Root) and get out of a rut by trying something other than your usual favored brand.
House-Kombucha is locally made at South of Market. Haight-Ashbury dwellers can find it at Delessio Market (302 Broderick St). It is based in spices and teas and now it is greener than ever: Its returnable, reusable bottles are more efficient than recycling. They are also donating five cents for each returned bottle to Save SF Bay.
