As reported on PR Newswire (1) Barney’s New York is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Barney’s CO-OP concept this year and they are celebrating this birthday in style. Barney’s CO-OP came to being in 1985 “and is considered to be a mecca for emerging designers looking to break into the industry.” Now a new Barney’s CO-OP is opening up in Cobble Hill and many locals are jazzed about being able to still appreciate the Barney’s CO-OP experience without having to deal with the pains of the Manhattan shopping experience.
Barney’s CO-OP has helped launch the careers of many famous designers and the Barney’s CO-OP in Cobble Hill promises a positive extension of that. Barney’s CO-OP Cobble Hill will be a huge space, “10,000 square feet on two levels (and)…located in the historic landmark district of Cobble Hill.” The fact that they are trying to blend right in with the neighborhood is at the core of the Barney’s aesthetic.
Shoppers, who feel that Brooklyn often gets the short end of the stick, fear not! Cobble Hill will “carry the entirety of the CO-OP anniversary collection.”
