While browsing around for some conditioner this week, I came across a new one by L’Oreal, that is either new, or I failed to spot it on shelves earlier throughout the year. At any rate, it is called, L’Oreal Hair Expertise Everstrong Conditioner Hydrate.
I did not really want to spend a whole lot of money on a conditioner, but this one smelled so delicious, I had to have it regardless of the price. Luckily the price is fair, and not over the top like Bed Head or Umberto.
From the sniff test in the store, what greeted my nostrils was a delicious mint cookie type scent that reminded me so much of girl scouts mint cookies. Although I have been dieting, and cannot touch a mint cookie, it’s ice knowing I could smell like one…that it, if the scent actually lasted in my hair.
I went ahead and shampooed my hair as I normally would, and then squirt out a decent half handful amount worth of L’Oreal Hair Expertise Everstrong Conditioner Hydrate.
The conditioner is thick, and the minty formula does tingle the scalp a little if you rub it in well enough. The overall feeling and scent is just refreshing and clean.
After rinsing my hair felt really soft, free of tangles, and slick. I hoped it would dry as nice as it felt while still wet.
Well the scent does not last, it rinses away while you wash out the conditioner, which was a bummer because the scent is definitely an enjoyable one.
I styled my hair as I usually would, but noticed that as it dried it was more puffy and frizzy than it has been in a very long time. I was beyond angry by this, because I have naturally frizzy prone hair to begin with, and this conditioner just seemed to amp up the puffiness, and frizzy look and feel.
I assume this is volume, or added body, but not the right kind of volume or body anyone would want for their hair.
Disappointed. A great scent, but as far as results go my hair was frizzy and puffy on a day when humidity was not even present in the air. If frizz is what you are looking for then go ahead and buy this one, if not skip it. I had to use Pantene Frizzy to Smooth Conditioner just to smooth out the puff and frizz this conditioner left behind.
