Duboce Park has something that you don’t see every day. They have 2 basketball rims with nets that are about 8 feet tall. This means that ordinary people can dunk and do other acrobatic maneuvers in midair – at least try to do them.
Usually low-hanging rims are found in older playgrounds, and they have come down from years of play. They are uneven and leaning down. You almost certainly cannot play on them. These two rims at Duboce Park are like those found on portable rims at Sports Authority, but have the solid backing of permanent rims. This is a true find in the city!
Duboce Park is also a great place to walk your dog or throw a frisbee around. There is a playground for children and the Harvey Milk Recreation Center nearby has many arts, particularly photography, programs, ranging from free to a few hundred dollars.
