The best show on television (Mad Men) just got better as the season finale concluded on AMC last night.
On a trip to California with his kids, Don attends a meeting with the niece of the widow, whose husband Don stole his identity from, to wrap up the estate (if you can’t follow that, stop right here). The niece gives Don the engagement ring that was to be given to her aunt upon her husband’s return, telling Don that her aunt wanted him to have it. Don pockets the ring, goes back to his hotel, and after a few days gives it to his secretary Megan, who has accompanied him on his trip. Don asks Megan to marry him and she accepts, thinking that Don has spent many an hour contemplating the move by designing the whole trip around the event (this guy is the biggest dog in TV history).
Upon arriving back in New York, Don quickly gathers the associates and announces that he is engaged to Megan. Roger (my mentor) promptly responds by asking, “Who is that?”
“It’s his secretary,” one of the partners informs him. “Congratulations,” Roger says, “Megan would you pour us some drinks.”
You have to see it to believe it.
If you have not seen this show, you need to go Blockbuster and rent season one. You’ll be hooked after the first couple episodes.
I would like to hear your comments concerning the show.
