You just never know when a blessing may come your way. Such was the case for Fran Karoff of Milton, Massachusetts and her then 7 year old son. Ms. Karoff relays her short tale in the April 2010 Ladies Home Journal. The article is entitled Play it Forward.
According to the article she says, “Three years ago I was looking on Craigslist for a used piano so my 7-year-old son could learn how to play”. She was fortunate in that she found a Victorian piano on Craigslist.
She contacted the owner. They developed an immediate rapport with each other. The owner of the piano felt led to give this piano to Fran, free of charge. The shipping and delivery costs were also taken care of. That’s not something that happens everyday.
Although this gesture occurred three years ago, she was touched by the kindness shown to her and her son.
Now while we may not all have the ability to do something of this magnitude we can all be kind. Kindness comes in so many different types of packages. There is not a “one-size fits all”.
As we head into a very busy time of the year with the approaching holidays, perhaps you can be a blessing to someone too. It’s not always about the dollars and cents. Sometimes it can be just giving of yourself and your time.
Who can you bless today or in the near future? You might be surprised in the blessing that you receive.
