Want to make those yummy candied pecans in your own kitchen? Go ahead, it’s really easy and it makes your whole house smell wonderful!
1 bag of pecan halves (1 lb.)
2 Egg whites
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Put the egg whites in a bowl and whip them until they have peaks (foamy white peaks). Gently stir in the sugar and cinnamon. Pour in the pecan halves and stir until all are covered in the sugary mixture. Using a teaspoon, remove the pecans one at a time and place them flat side down on a cookie sheet covered in waxed paper. Bake in a 300 degree oven for about 25 minutes. The smell alone will make you drool!
Once they are done, these are wonderful by themselves or can be chopped for a delicious topping to enhance a pumpkin pie, pumpkin bisque soup or just to put on ice cream!
