The owner of a Ferndale music store is credited with solving a local home invasion that occurred back in July. The owner of Gordy’s Music on Hilton Road contacted police after a man with an artificial leg attempted to sell him a stolen amp and guitar. A woman had contacted the store owner and asked him to be on the lookout for music equipment that had been stolen from her home; when he called the woman and described the suspect to her, she recognized him as her neighbor, 35-year-old Edward Hogan.
Hogan is accused of entering the victim’s Leitch Street home through an unlocked window on July 26. Police say that approximately $2,000 work of electronic and musical equipment were taken. Hogan is a registered sex offender and has been convicted at least twice on drug possession charges. He is due in Ferndale 43rd District Court on October 22 for a pre-exam conference.
