Yesterday I went to my local Dollar Tree store to pick up some bones for my dogs and a few other cheap items, when I browsed the small makeup area and found Maybelline Mineral Blushes for just a buck!
I have found a lot of Maybelline products at the Dollar Tree store lately even though I have seen these products still in other department and drug stores.
I realize that Dollar Tree stores get products when there is an overabundance or when these items are being phased out, but for some reason there have been a lot of products that are still being sold in other stores at the higher price. I do not know why this is, but am glad that I wanted to venture out because I bought 2 of the several colors they had there.
Maybelline Mineral Blushes usually range in price between $5 and $7 at local drugstores. There are not only blushes but bronzer colors in this particular product as well.
I think you get a ton of product for the price, even when paying the original couple of bucks.
The product comes in a clear plastic jar with a screw off lid. The lid color has a ring around the top in the blush color. This colored area is supposed to be what the blush is, but I find it somewhat deceiving. The only downside to the packaging is that it does get messy. This is not unusual since this is a loose powder.
You get 4.5 grams of blush that comes out of a sifter once you unscrew the top.
There is a lot less glitter or sparkle to this blush unlike other mineral blushes that I own.
I bought 2 colors, one in “true peach” and the other in “gentle pink”. Both colors are bright in the jar, but blend quite well.
I really like the colors, as they are brighter than the other blushes I own, but since this is a mineral makeup product, the blush is easily blendable and you can add more product for more color payoff.
You really only use a small amount of product, so this gigantic jar will last quite a while.
There were several colors available at the Dollar Tree store and 1 bronzer, so if you get the chance to pick these up soon, you can probably by all the colors for the price of one at your local drugstore.
Even if you have to pay the original amount, I think these blushes are worth it. Since other mineral blushes can be really expensive, this is a way to test the waters to see if you will like the use of a loose blush.
These blushes are not completely natural though, as there are some added ingredients, so you need to take that into consideration as these won’t be completely like the other higher end products.
Overall, I am really excited to try the 2 blushes that I purchased and will look forward in buying more if I can find them on sale again at the local dollar store.
