Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York city has been a political bouncer for a long time, but when it comes to the proposed mosque to be built at Ground Zero, he has really lost in. In his own words, not allowing this mosque to be built is to “compromising our commitment to fighting terror with freedom.”
Say what? What sort of convoluted thinking is that? Has he forgotten that 3000 Americans died on September 11, 2001 when those two flights were hijacked by Islamic terrorists, flown into the towers? Has he forgotten the horrific scenes on television that day, enough to make you turn ghastly white? It does appear that Bloomberg has bought into dhimmitude, or official status of non-Muslims in an already dominant Muslim world. Perhaps he has not seen what has happened to France, Sweden, the Netherlands, even Great Britain, in the past decade. Of course, some people like myself will say, “If they hate us so much, then why are they coming to our country?”
Giving in to the demands of those Muslims who would threaten our existence is not the solution, for that is only self-defeating, not self-preserving. If we are to preserve our freedom, the last thing we should do is permit the building of a mosque at Ground Zero. Bloomberg appeasement of Sharif el-Gamal and Daisy Khan only makes the situation worse. Yes, Bloomberg was a Democrat, then a Republican, now an Independent (at the same time he manages to make the Independents look bad!). Regardless of his political affiliation right now, the words that came out of his mouth could not come at a worse time, when the United States observes the nine-year anniversary of this hideously tragic event.
Who knows what sort of terrorism this new mosque might provide as a cover for. It is a well known fact that there are more than one Islamic terror groups now operating in the United States under the guise of a mosque. Sure, a number of them have been seized in the past several years by the feds (most notably those operated by the Alavi Foundation, which has ties to Iran; these people should not be allowed to own property in the United States) but there are others out there, plus more waiting to spring up. President Obama’s comment on allowing el-Gamal and Khan build a mosque and Islamic center at Ground Zero did not help the case any either, but that could be because he is Muslim himself.
Even if a mosque were to be built on Ground Zero, it is predictable that certain segments of American society will go to extreme lengths to see it closed down, that is, if it did not get torched and vandalized first.
