The Chung Tai Zen Center of Sunnyvale is offering free introductory courses in Zen Meditation on 750 Arques Avenue. Zen Meditation, which flourished in China around 700 A.D., is known as “Chan” in Chinese. Classes continue until December 8 and are on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm till 9:30 pm. Classes are taught by Ven. Jian-Hu, the abbot of the Zen Center and practiced with Chinese Master Wei Chueh who is currently visiting the Sunnyvale center until the end of December. The Santa Clara South Asian Heart Center of El Camino Mountain View Hospital is bringing a Community Health Event featuring heart screenings, ‘ask-a-doctor’ sessions, lectures and wellness education on November 13 at the Jain Center of Northern California from 9 AM – 3PM.
