We’ve all been there: going to greet new neighbors, when we have no clue if they are young, old, friendly, grouchy, or “our” type of people at all. I wasn’t sure what I would find when I dropped by to visit, but am glad to report this is the happiest group of people I’ve encountered in a long time.
Well, gosh, hello, how are you?
It’s so nice to see you here.
I had no clue you’d be so nice,
Glad you’ve made it clear.
No hiding your light under a bush, oh no,
You’re gonna let it shine,
You’re just my type of neighbor,
and we’re going to get along fine.
I live just down the street, there,
at the very end of the road,
Where the tree still needs some trimming,
but the weeds have all been hoed.
Drop by and see me anytime,
We can sit a spell,
and swap stories of how great it is
when neighbors ring a bell.
Welcome to the neighborhood; mighty glad to meet you.
