Michaele Salahi’s Playboy cover and spread will add to the “White House Crasher” book of publicity. Last year at this time, no one had ever heard of the Salahi family – that is, until they somehow “crashed” Barack and Michelle Obama’s first Dinner Party.
Not only did Michaele Salahi crash the White House dinner party, she went on to become one of hte “Real Housewives of DC” on the Bravo network. As many people know, becoming a “housewife” is a sure fire way to publicity, and fame.
Bethenney Frankel became a lot more popular after she joined the New York Cast. Teresa Giudice and Danielle Staub are a couple more that made glossy gossip magazine headlines solely because of their Housewife fame.
Now Michaele has reached another level of fame – she’s going to pose nude for Playboy. Yes, that’s right – the White House Crasher is going to crash the Playboy Mansion as well.
There have been quite a few notable Playboy shots this year, including Madmen’s Crista Flanagan.
In addition, Laurence Fishburne’s porn star daughter, Montana (aka Chippy D) did some test shots for the magazine, but was turned down. I’d venture to say within the next year after the phenomenal success of her adult title, that Playboy will reverse course and capitalize on her popularity.
New York housewife Kelly Bensimon was featured in the March edition of the magazine.
Last year, Playboy did a “tasteful” spread of Marge Simpson- but that didn’t involve nudity. I know many were wondering if the carpet matches the drapes, but that is one of the few non-nude playboy shots.
Michaele Salahi is reported to be excited about her spread, has said “it won’t be an “artsy ‘top half’ naked-we’re talking full-frontal, birthday suit naked.”
Glad she clarified that for us.
Meanwhile, Playboy hasn’t decided on the cover of the magazine.
Kelly Bensimon and Michaele Salahi aren’t the only Housewives to have involvement with Playboy. Jeana Keough, one of the original OC housewives is a former Playboy bunny.
Kim Zolciak from the Atlanta cast also expressed interest in becoming featured in Playboy. She said she was going to appear in the magazine, but then the magazine came back and said that they had no plans to feature her on the cover.
Wherever there is drama and reality stars who are women, there’s a bank of potential Playboy spreads.
Perhaps the biggest indicator of “making it” as a woman reality show star is Playboy’s desire to have you in their magazine. Now, I don’t know if the Michaele Salahi issue will be a sellout, but it will definitely spark some male interest in the show.
