A woman named Michele Bundy has filed a restraining order against Shannon Sharpe, a former NFL football player and CBS commentator. The restraining order keeps Sharpe from making any contact with Michele Bundy, and he can’t come within 200 yards of her or her family. Bundy has accused Sharpe of making threats on her life, forcing her to have sex with him, and stalking behavior.
It is widely believed that Michele Bundy is an ex-girlfriend of Shannon Sharpe, but this has not yet been confirmed. Bundy also has a child in her care and has asked that the child be included on the restraining order. However, it is unclear whether this is her child, a family member, or, possibly, a child of which she is the guardian.
In response to this news, the former Broncos tight end has taken a leave of absence from his position as a sports commentator for CBS. A hearing is scheduled for the 20th of September even though Sharpe has not been charged with a crime.
During his time in the NFL, Sharpe won three Superbowl rings. Two were won with the Broncos and one was won with Baltimore Ravens. He was the first tight end to reach 10,000 receiving yards, and he held the record until Tony Gonzalez broke it in 2008. It is likely that Shannon Sharpe will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame even though he wasn’t accepted into it during his first year of eligibility. Unless, that is, this scandal does irreparable harm to his image.
