Millionaires help themselves to unemployment benefits.
IRS tax data for 2008 has reported that 2,840 returns were filed by taxpayers with incomes over $1 million who received unemployment income. They collected a reported total of $18.6 million in benefits.
Bloomberg.com indicates that 806 had incomes of more than $2 million and 17 had incomes exceeding $10 million.
