Was Kate Gosselin Really Paid a $500,000 Salary to Appear on “Dancing with the Stars”?
Popeater reported season 10 contestant, Kate Gosselin made $500,000. Other reports contradict the single mom of eight didn’t receive anymore compensation than other stars of the show.
Can we really see Pamela Anderson, who was on the same season, be paid less than Gosselin?
Shawn Johnson Was Paid Maximum Amount
Since Olympic gymnast, Shawn Johnson, was a minor, she had to have contract approval from an L.A. County judge. Her salary on “Dancing with the Stars” was guaranteed at $125,000. She would also receive $10,000 for weeks three and four. If Johnson stayed on past week four, she would get an additional $20,000 bonus for weeks five through seven. If she was still around for weeks eight and nine, her bonus reached $30,000 each week, then leaped to $50,000 for the tenth and eleventh weeks.
Johnson was paid the maximum amount of $365,000 on “Dancing with the Stars” since she made it to the finals. Talk about a nice chunk of change.
Howard Stern Reveals Pay Wife Was Offered on “Dancing with the Stars”
Howard Stern revealed how much his wife, Beth Ostrosky Stern, was offered to be on the reality show. The leggy model declined an offer to be on season 3.
Beth Ostrosky was in talks for a base salary of $125,000 to appear on “Dancing with the Stars.” An additional $20,000 bonus was offered per each week she remained on the show. A $50,000 bonus was added if the show made it to week nine. Because season 3 had less contestants, less weeks were required – making the payout a total maximum of $245,000 if Ostrosky wasn’t an eliminate contestant. Not bad!
Amazon Answers supported the $245,000 report on what the cast is paid on “Dancing with the Stars.” The first season paid a salary of $125,000 to each celebrity before it became the hit on ABC it is today.
What the Pro Dancers are Paid
Celebs can’t do it without their partners. So, what are the pro dancers paid on “Dancing with the Stars”? An undated reference on DWTS.org indicated they make around $5,200 an episode. In earlier seasons, they were only paid $1,160.
What the contestants are paid alone would be a great incentive to go on the show. You can’t beat making good money dancing with hot pros while getting in the best shape of your life.
