The Mountain View Educational Foundation(MVEF) recently sent home flyers to parents in Mountain View schools seeking donations to help support the many programs they provide for students such as after-school sports and extended-day electives.
MVEF states that 80 percent of their budget comes from parent’s donations. The Foundation states they are “absolutely grateful” for all the support they receive from parents that allows them to provide a wide variety of special programs to Mountain View students. So far the MVEF has raised $100,000 of their $400,000 goal! To help raise more funds, the MVEF will hold a phone-a-thon on November 8 and 9. Volunteers will call residents in Mountain View who have not already donated to MVEF to solicit donations of any amount, from $5 and up. MVEF flyer states that they have a donor who is willing to match first time or increased donation.
There are several ways to donate to the MVEF. They have a website at mvef.org which accepts online donations, parents can fill out and return the donation form to their child’s school, school, or can donate during the phone-a-thon. There is even an option on the donation form to spread out your donation over a 10 month period.
