Weather services report that runoff from this recent heavy rainfall in Mountain View is expected to cause surface street flooding especially in known problem areas such as Downtown. The current heavy rainfall is expected to cause small creeks and streams to rise which could increase the possibility of flooding in those areas.
Another potential hazard to keep on the lookout for are potholes in area streets. The rain not only increases the probability of potholes, it also fills them up. This makes it especially hard to drive at night when visibility is lessened. If you see a pothole on local streets, report it to Mountain View city streets department.
