Long ago going to the movies was an experience in own right. Now all you need to do is pick up a smart phone and you can watch a movie. There are a few places left where seeing a movie can be an experience. Fortunately for those of us in Sacramento we have one such place at the
West Wind Sacramento 6 Drive-In Movies.
The Sacramento Drive-In has been giving families in the Sacramento area a unique theater experience since the late 60’s. One of the great things about the Drive-In is that you can see two movies for less then the price of one at the cinema. You will also get a totally unique experience.
Many families bring their own food with them to the Drive-In. The Drive-In does not discourage this it encourages it by providing picnic benches for families and even a small play area for the kids.
The Sacramento Drive-In already makes taking kids to the Drive-In cheap by charging only $1 for kids 5-11 with kids under 5 free they also have a Tuesday family night where parents are only $4.75.
Occasionally the Drive-In has special events. Last year they had a couple free movie nights. Along with free movies they also had many free activities for the family including a bounce house. They also had specials on food and even had food they normally do not serve like Sno Cones. These special events are always fun and lots of families come out the events.
During the summer months the Drive-In has a water slide for the kids. With the picnic area, water slide, and playground you can have a nice dinner before your movie.
The Drive-In is more then just about seeing a movie. The Drive-In can be fun for kids to bring their own food and blankets while they watch a movie. Older “kids” can have their own fun at the Drive-In.
With so few Drive-In movie theaters left it is nice that we still have one in Sacramento. So share the movie magic with your family while you can.
