All women understand the necessity and the comfort of having one or two little black dresses (LBD) in their wardrobes, but most may have a hard time understanding why Lady Gaga donned a meat dress at the MTV Video Music Awards Show last night.
In response to the meat attire, PETA asked the rhetorical question: “What’s next: the family cat made into a hat?”
Ellen DeGeneres taped her season premiere talk show after pulling double duty as a presenter at the VMAs in Los Angeles by interviewing Lady Gaga following the show.
Ellen, a vegan, asked Lady Gaga “What is the purpose of the meat?”
Lady Gaga responded (and yes, it’s kind of hard to follow her logic stream): “Well, it’s certainly no disrespect to anyone that’s vegan or vegetarian….I, as you know, am the most judgment-free human being on Earth. However, it has many interpretations – but for me this evening it’s that if we don’t stand up for what we believe in, if we don’t fight for our rights, pretty soon we’re gonna have as much rights as the meat on our bones. AND, [holds up Japanese Vogue, on the cover of which Gaga appeared in a (real) meat bikini], I am not a piece of meat.”
Okay then, now that that is all cleared up……
Of course, Ellen who seems rather amicable with most people and appears to be so even-keeled with even her most outlandish guests, gave Gaga a bikini with a kale print. Although kale greens is awesome food, it just doesn’t make for a spectacular bikini.
