I get really excited for fall. The leaves are changing colors, the weather is cooling down, football season is starting and most importantly, my favorite shows return to the tube! From HBO to Lifetime (yes, you read that correctly), I have my fall 2010 T.V. line-up scheduled for my viewing pleasure!
Beginning on Sunday, my television schedule is pretty simple during the day with Football slotted as the only real “show” scheduled for that day.
However, like most evenings, the television shows begin piling up, making it difficult to choose just one. I will be adding a new show on HBO with Steve Buscemi, called “Boardwalk Empire” which will compete with Showtime’s “Dexter.” Depending on how well “Boardwalk Empire” does, I will switch off what will be DVR’d. I am really looking forward to the return of “Bored to Death.” With a line-up with Jason Schwartzman, Ted Danson and Zach Galifianakis, how can you lose?
1. Boardwalk Empire | 9 p.m.
2. DVR Dexter | 9 p.m.
3. Bored to Death | 10 p.m.
Curing my case of the Mondays will be Monday Night Football at 9 p.m. and yes, “Dancing with the Stars.” With the guilty pleasure success of “Jersey Shore” and “The Situation,” it looks as though “Dancing with the Stars” might become a regular part of my home’s television schedule.
1. Dancing with the Stars | 8 p.m.
2. Monday Night Football | 9 p.m.
Tuesday nights are going to be pretty quiet with the elimination episode of “Dancing with the Stars.” Like most Tuesday nights in my home, a movie on HBO or Showtime might make its way onto our television.
1. Dancing with the Stars | 9 p.m.
I was late to the party with “Modern Family” and began watching last season halfway through and became a fan almost instantly. This is one of my most anticipated television shows for the fall. It helps that it nabbed Best Comedy at the Emmy’s. It will make the shows return that much sweeter!
1. Modern Family | 9 p.m.
Per usual, Thursday nights have always been a full night at my household. With the exception of a few more shows, this fall season is no different. This season around, Thursday nights are going to be comedy-filled, sprinkled with a little drama and fashion. It’s a great way to bring in the end of the week!
1. Community | 8:00 p.m.
2. DVR: My Generation | 8 p.m.
3. 30 Rock | 8:30 p.m.
4. The Office | 9:00 p.m.
5. DVR Project Runway | 9 p.m.
6. Outsourced | 9:30 p.m.
7. Jersey Shore | 10 p.m.
Friday night television is always a little more lightweight and fun. After a long workweek, it is exactly what the doctor ordered. A night filled with Joel McHale, jabs from Joan Rivers and smart conversation on Bill Maher, I will be going to sleep with a smile on my face.
1. The Soup | 10 p.m.
2. DVR Bill Maher | 10 p.m.
3. Fashion Police | 10:30 p.m.
I may quite possibly be the last person on earth that still watches SNL but I am a creature of habit! With Jane Lynch slotted to host the show in October, I cannot give up, yet!
1. Saturday Night Live | 11:30 p.m.
Sprinkled throughout the end of this year and beginning of 2011, you can also find local basketball games finding its way into our television. And, of course, beginning in November, you can find my husband and I supporting Conan O’Brien’s new show on TBS! Phew. It is going to be one busy season for my television – I hope it is up for the challenge!
