Home of the LA Galaxy and buzzing with excitement, Los Angeles, CA is one place you simply must visit. I spent 3 1/2 of my teen years in the heart of LA and come back quit often to visit friends and family member who still reside here. Tourist flood LA for the shopping, the excitement, the scenery. When I found out that Los Angeles was up for bid for the 2022 World Cup I had very mixed feelings on this subject. In the end, I found that it would have a positive impact to our community.
It would be good economic stimulation for our city.
It would bring much needed money and provide economic stimulation. California in general is in a financial crisis and the extra money from tourist would somewhat help pull us out of the hole we’ve got ourselves in. Local business would have a chance to get back on their feet, even for a minute, and hotels and restaurants would be thriving as well. I remember during the last world cup I was working at a mall and after the game ended the mall was flooded with people celebratory shopping.
It would educate the residents of our city more about soccer.
Until the last World Cup, I can honestly say I didn’t know much about soccer even having played a few seasons myself as a kid. Because of my friends and family enjoying the game, I was able to ask questions and get answers to help educate me further on the game of soccer.
It would bring people closer together.
Besides the arena being filled, sports bars and other nearby locations would be over flowing with tourists and residents alike. People who may not even know each other will bond over the losses and wins, ailing together in hopes their desired team wins.
Los Angeles is a great location.
Los Angeles offers many forms of public transportation and housing, from short term to long term stays for tourists. It’s considered a cultural Mecca and is home to people from over 140 different countries. It would definitely be beneficial to have the 2022 World Cup in such a large city that has so much to offer for entertainment, dining, hotels, and transportation at minimal costs to those who can’t afford a lavish vacation but still want to watch the game!
It would give us the opportunity to learn about other cultures
Though Los Angeles already offers a vast variety of cultures and ethnicity’s, it’s always both fun and beneficial to visit with people from other places. It would help both children and adults to spend time and communicate with different people.
With the beautiful weather and variety of things to do I truly believe Los Angeles would be the best place to host the 2022 World Cup.
