Home-building in the spirit and furnishing the quiet places in my soul is today’s “God Calling” message.
I’m thinking the walls would be mercy, the doors would be grace. Each room would be love. The ceilings would be peace that would rain down in gentle mists. The floors would be carpeted with joy that radiates upward.
There would be fireplace in the den and the master bedroom. It represents the Lord and the warmth and intimacy we can find in Him; the warmth and intimacy we can have in relationship with Him. Each room would be furnished with God’s promises. My beds and couches would be psalms. Then rest and sleep would always be sweet because they contain the promises of God and bring healing and comfort, reminding me of the joy of living for Him. My dining table would be laden with proverbs for in them is wisdom. My cupboards would be filled with God’s promises; God’s Word. It is alive and filled with power; power to save to heal, to revive and restore. It makes all things new and possible.
Of course, the foundation would be Jesus’ Words because He said everyone who hears and does His Word is like a man who built his home on solid rock and when the storms of life came, they couldn’t prevail against it and the house stood. My porches would be altars from which I can see and hear God’s wonderful creation and join in to praise Him every morning; and contemplate His amazing love toward me every night before bed. My windows would be Jesus’ eyes for He sees perfectly where my vision and perception is imperfect; flawed. He sees causes and intentions because He sees through eyes of mercy and grace. He sees all the perfection within us still waiting for us to discover it, because He sees through eyes of hope and promise. He sees the needed cures and inspirations because He sees through His eyes of amazing, amazing, amazing love. I thank you, Lord. I’m so grateful and I love you so much!
