One of my friends called me today,
starting taliking about NASCAR, as is her way.
Wanted to know what I was going to do
now that many of my drivers had proved to be true
to the talent it takes to drive a car at the speed
and still manage to stand for a creed
that embraces racing, the American way
and appreciating your fans, day after day.
I happened to have pondered, most of the night,
what action to take, so I would feel right
about yelling for Edwards, if Gordon should win,
or if either of the Busch boys gave it a spin.
I finally decided what I should do,
So guys, I’m yelling for all of you.
Race your hearts out, be true to your team,
but if you can, leap ahead, and capture your dream.
I’m there for the winner, I’m there for you all,
Racing everywhere is lucky that you got a call
to follow the tracks. from North, South, East, West,
and pick up the win with laps you do best.
Here’s to a good race, Here’s to a good Chase,
Fans will be cheering all over the place.
Can’t pick one driver this year, it’s just no use,
and that’s why I have the NASCAR blues.
