Two great ways that you can treat your hair to a special spa day is by giving it a deep conditioning treatment and then a revitalizing rinse and refreshing. Conditioning treatments can help to stimulate the scalp, making hair grow healthier, add some shine and even prevent split ends by deep moisturizing. Rinses can bring out highlights, add shine and brighten blonds.
Conditioning masks should be massaged into the scalp and throughout the hair, all the way to the ends. Leave the treatment on for about fifteen minutes. Make sure to rinse your hair well as to not leave any residue that will lead to dandruff. For a more intense treatment, cover your head with a shower cap while treating or a a towel wet with warm water (or both).
Try a banana conditioner for healthy scalp and hair by mixing one mashed ripe banana with three tablespoons of honey. If you want to add aromatherapy to this blend add some powdered cinnamon for a nice pick-me-up. For scalp stimulation do an avocado and ginger mask for your hair by mashing one avocado and mixing in a teaspoon of powdered ginger. The ginger will tingle your scalp making it feel fresh and alive. The perfect split end treatment comes from a blend of a quarter cup of olive oil and seven drops of lavender essential oil. Lavender is healing to the hair and olive oil is the best moisturizer for skin, hair and scalp.
Rinses are the encore to hair care that your locks deserve. Simply pour the rinse over your hair letting it run all the way through and down to your ends. Rinses are refreshing, invigorating and great for your hair.
For blonds and redheads who want to add some sparkle to their mane, or those who want to help bringing out their highlights in those colors, a chamomile rinse is just the right answer. All that is needed for this are two bags of chamomile tea boiled in three cups of water. Once the mixture cools it is ready to use.
Dark hair can be thankful for the herb rosemary, which will add beautiful shine to brunettes. Boil three tablespoons of rosemary in two cups of water, let cool and pour.
To help lighten and brighten blond locks mix fresh squeezed lemon juice from one lemon into two cups of lukewarm water and close your eyes to rinse. Lemon is a bit painful when it gets in the eyes!
