Just when you thought you needed another reason to drink vodka, Stolichnaya (Stoli Brand Vodkas) has signed an exclusive deal with Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment according to recent reports from Media Post. Their focus will be on the forthcoming Barclays Center in Downtown Brooklyn where the future home of the NBA’s New Jersey Nets will be. This return of professional sports to Downtown Brooklyn is the “first professional sports venue in Brooklyn since 1957.”
Barclays Center is “slated to open in mid 2012” and executives from Stoli are looking forward to it almost as much as the fans. The Barclays Center is being built over the old Atlantic Avenue rail yards and hopes to bring this area of town (near the intersection of Atlantic and Flatbush Aves) a newly scrubbed face.
In addition to the Founding Partner status that Stoli gets with their five-year alliance, they will also “have category exclusive branding through the new arena and the branding of six bars.”
Now if the Stoli can just make the Nets a better team! That would be truly magical.
