The day I restocked a “Lost Desert Draik Egg” I was completely hooked. Here was a place I could make huge profits with far less waiting periods then traditional restocking. The items in the attic sell for their estimated values instead of their real worth. Estimated values can be found in the item description when you click the item. A “Lost Desert Draik Egg” has an estimated value of 700,000. The true value is around 12-15 million. Every seven minutes, the Neopets “Almost Abandoned Attic” has a random chance of restocking rare items for cheap prices. There is no haggle page, you simply click the item. Everything from morphing potions, battledome equipment, stamps, books, food, and clothing restocks at bargain prices. The catch is, nearly everything is so rare and expensive, the shop sells out in a flash.
Almost Abandoned Attic: Learning the restock time
Going to the game boards is the quickest way to find the next restock time. You are looking for a thread that has “AAA” in the title. Regular attic restockers keep the board bumped for easy access. You sometimes can find attic threads on the battledome board, but the games board is often the best bumped resource. The opening post on the board has attic times, screenies of restocks, and other information. I like to jump right to the last posts, because restockers will post a handful of the upcoming times. The attic randomly restocks at :53 after the minute. If the restock time is 5:40pm and :53 seconds(5:40:53pm), the next possible restock time would be 5:47:53pm. If there isn’t a current one posted, I go back a page, find the time, and apply this strategy.
Almost Abandoned Attic: Learning to refresh
This strategy will greatly improve your chances of restocking a decent profit at the attic. A great many players will hit the F5 button right at :53, scroll down slowly looking for the best profit, and miss all the good items. The best way to restock something is to find your computer lag time. If three seconds pass when you refresh at :53, then you are really refreshing at :56. The shop has already been picked over and you are getting the leavings, which can be unprofitable. Find your refresh time by refreshing at a normal shop. Your refresh time can change from day to day, so check it out before hitting the attic.
Almost Abandoned Attic: Getting the perfect refresh
You have found out that it takes two seconds for your screen to refresh. This means, you need to hit F5 at exactly :51. You did it! As soon as you see items hit your space bar, this will take you down to the bottom of the screen. Most people are clicking at the first thing they see, the stuff at the top. If you want any sort of decent chance, you will go to the bottom of the list.
Almost Abandoned Attic: What to buy
Very few items in the attic are a loss. Stay away from school supplies, battledome equipment(unless you know its worth a fortune), Brightvale windows, and instruments. These are often worth less then you pay for them. Due to autobuyers, it is extremely hard to buy draik eggs, morphing potions, faerie dolls, and high end battledome equipment. You might get lucky if there are no cheaters online. If you really wish to try for those items, best time is between 11pm-3am NST. (Neopia Standard Time) Items to make a profit from, any time of the day, include stamps, books, rare plushies, furniture, usuki, backgrounds, newer wearables, and gourmet food. These items do not get targeted by autobuyers and you have a fair chance at buying them. You still may have a loss, from time to time, but overall you can make millions restocking these type of items.
Almost Abandoned Attic: Snipe restocks
The items are sold so cheap at the attic, people sometimes don’t know what they are worth. They often unbuyable items in their shop! I like to look at the latest screenies found on the “AAA” thread and use my shop wizard to for snipe them. I have found unbuyable petpets, food, books for 99,999 and less. If you find a snipe, don’t forget to check the rest of the shop. They may have picked up more then one item at the attic.
When restocking at the Almost Abandoned Attic it is best to close out all other programs. Keep as few windows open as possible for better restock timing. I tend to chat on the boards to relieve boredom between restocks. Some players restock in regular shops while waiting for the attic, do whatever makes you the most profits with your time.
