If you play games on Neopets you probably have heard of paint brushes. They paint your pets
different colors, and some can be quite expensive. Paint brushes are so coveted, some
people spend months or even years saving up for one of these sparkly humming wonders. If
you want one in less then a week, the answer is world challenges.
Do you ever notice the players on the trading post selling lots of ten paint brushes? Do
you ever wonder how they acquired so many? Sure, some of them must be reselling paint
brushes they bought for a lower price. Crafty players simply win three world challenges
each day so every week they can win a new paint brush! You too can build up an impressive
collection of paint brushes and other rare items.
World challenges are a way to play games, you would normally play, against other players on
Neopets. You can find the world challenge icon on the bottom right of the game you wish to
play. It is located between the “rate this game” and “send challenge” buttons, three icons
from the right. When you click the button, it directs you to the specific games centered
around that world. You will need to click on the game you want to challenge and pay your
entry fee of 100 Neopoints. Don’t worry, you will make that back plus more from the
Neopoints you are awarded from playing. You don’t even have to win the world challenge.
Each world challenge competition last one hour, beginning at the start of that hour. The
skilled (or lucky) players who retain the top slots receive a random puzzle piece at the
end of the hour. The puzzle piece is one of twenty that complete a picture. When you redeem
the set you win a rare item, which nine times out of ten is a paint brush.
Not good at games? Never fear, you don’t have to be the best player out there to win. Start
browsing all the world challenge games at ten minutes after the hour. You are looking for
games that you can get a slightly good score. Take a look at what the other players are
scoring. There are often games that you can beat 50 percent of the scores. Sure, you will
see people scoring over 1000 points on Wingoball, but you will also see scores of 700 or
The computer will randomly put your score against one of the players. With a little luck,
it will set you up with the player who scored 650 points. The important thing is to only
post your score if it can beat half the players. Keep trying on various hours, and
eventually you will get lucky. Sometimes, you only need one win to stay in the top slots,
other times half a dozen plays are needed. Once you get in the winners circle, check back
to make sure you didn’t get bumped down. If you get pushed out of your slot, send another
score. I find it handy to have a game completed, ready to send that good score, before the
hour is finished.
Only in the world challenges are you allowed to send your score more then three times. You
only get neopoints for the first three sends. However, you can send scores for as many
games in an hour as you like. The one-hundred neopoint entry is per each different game. If
you play Hot Dog Hero, for example, the one-hundred neopoints is for a full hour of play on
that game. If you want to try a different world challenge game, a new fee applies.
There are three ways to win a Neopets world challenge.
1.Send the highest score
If your score leaves other players in the dust, you will only need to send your score once.
Which leaves the rest of the hour to do something else. The quickest way to win, and my
2.Have the highest total of scores combined
You can send many decent scores and if the total of your scores beats other totals you win.
This one is good to use on very quick games like Splat-A-Sloth.
3.Have the highest tally
All you need to do here is have the greatest amount of wins. This strategy is often used
for more time consuming games like Berry Bash. I often will have that finished game ready
to send score in the last five minutes to beat the competition.
Whichever method you wish to employ keep yourself in the positive. If you have -1 for your
tally, you will need to get back to 0 or above before the hour ends.
Sometimes, when playing a Neopets world challenge, there aren’t enough players to win a
puzzle piece. A minimum of five players must send scores, or no one will win. It can be
frustrating to send a good score and there are only two other players. I have an excellent
solution to this problem. Start a new thread on the games board advertising world challenge
players needed. Before you know it, you will have at least five people playing.
When you are ready to add a puzzle piece to your picture, click on it in your inventory.
When the pop-up window appears, click the option to add or remove pieces. Once you have
converted a picture the pieces are gone forever, but you will find a rare item in your
inventory. The great majority of the time, this will be a paint brush. You also receive
2000 neopoints upon converting the picture.
The items that are given out are quite rewarding. Paint brushes, petpet paint brushes,
and rare petpets are some of the nice trinkets that could be yours for the taking.
I hope this article helped you understand Neopets world challenges better. Good luck!
