When we think “Bed and Breakfast” we think of a cute little farmhouse in the country colored in (for some reason) purple pastels with elaborate lattice work, probably with a bird-fountain somewhere in the front yard which is full of greenery: trees, shrubs and grass.
What we definitely do not think of is an apartment off of Court Street. Matter of fact, that’s probably about the last thing we would imagine.
That’s not stopping 8 enterprising young Brooklynites from giving it a shot, however, starting with a “Beta” opening as of October 1st and being officially, fully operational beginning Nov 15th.
The entire B & B was designed within a co-operative in which the 8 members have been living communally for over a year now, and the goal is to give the guests a little bit of that experience as well. That would make this enterprise even more unusual than the farm-house in the middle of Downtown image, and we’re curious to see if it catches on.
During the Beta stage, called “3B Beta,” only half of their rooms are available, and at discounted rates. They have several types of rooms, including a single queen bed room, a double queen bed room, and four-bunk rooms. The bunk rooms will regularly be $40 a night per person, the single is $120, and the double queen bedroom $140.
Visit their website to see some images of 3B and learn more about them or to make a reservation.
