Hop heads and suds fans rejoice! You’ll soon have a new local haunt to frequent.
A new 2,000 square foot beer garden is opening in Cobble Hill at 61 Bergen Street.
The Brooklyn Based blog reports that the snazzy new space is the brainchild of Dave Liatti, former Sixpoint brewery engineer. However, the new space is not an offshoot of the brewery.
The space will house only long-communal tables and will serve only draught beers-no bottles. The beers featured will include several from the Sixpoint brewery, as well as a number of other local brews from around the region. There will also be locally made sodas and kombucha on tap.
The public house will serve a limited menu, designed by Chris Munsey of Murray Cheese-featuring predominantly artisinal ingredients.
61 Local will function as a sort of rustic community center, hosting events produced by local food producers and community creatives.
That is some good news.
