Bringing a really cool idea to fruition and exhibition for you to enjoy, the Brooklyn Historical Society (BHS) asked a number of artists to create new works based on inspiration from items within the BHS’s collections.
The resulting FREE exhibit, Artist and Artifact: Re-Visioning Brooklyn’s Past will be open to the public from November 11th through December 17th at BHS and BRIC Rotunda Gallery (33 Clinton St) in Brooklyn Heights.
An Opening Reception will take place on Wednesday, Nov 10th at the gallery, from 7-9pm.
Other events and performances associated with the exhibit include:
Premier Performance with Daniel Jose Older – Thursday, October 28th 6:30-8pm (doors open at 5:30pm)
Author Readings with Michael Schwartz and Elizabeth Gaffney – Saturday, Nov 20th 2-4pm at BHS.
Artist Panel and Gallery Talk – Tuesday, Nov 30th 6-8pm, at BHS.
Admission to the exhibition and programs is FREE, mad possible “through the generous support of The Getty Foundation and The Greenwall Foundation.”
